Sheri Adlin Recognized for Outstanding Early Education Achievement

Inaugural Douglas Baird Lifetime Achievement Award

Sheri Adlin was recently presented with the first annual Douglas Baird Lifetime Achievement Award for service in support of the early education field and for the protection of children.  Sheri is the long-time Executive Director of South Shore Stars early education & after school program in Weymouth.  Prior to joining South Shore Stars, Sheri was Assistant Secretary of Human Services under Governor Dukakis where she wrote the landmark Governors Daycare Partnership Act.

The Award is named after the late Douglas Baird.  Doug was a noted advocate for Children in Boston, serving as President of Associated Day Care (Now Nurtury Early Education).  Doug was also a former Deputy Director of DCF and provided national advocacy for children when he served a stint as President of USA Child Care in Washington.
